Tales from the author's desk
Here, we share insights into how my books can enrich your child's life, delve into the spark of inspiration behind each story, and offer a peek behind the curtain of children's book creation. I invite you to read, reflect, and share your thoughts with me!

Wumsy’s Heart Goes Pitter-Patter: A Valentine’s Day Adventure beautifully captures the tender magic of a first crush through the charming story of rabbit Wumsy. With warmth and sensitivity, the book explores the fluttery excitement of caring for someone and the gentle changes children may notice in their hearts and bodies. It’s a perfect Valentine’s Day read-aloud that opens the door to meaningful conversations.
Children are naturally curious about their bodies and their feelings. When they begin asking questions, it presents a valuable opportunity for parents to introduce age-appropriate discussions about love, body awareness, boundaries, and respect.
While it may feel early to speak with toddlers about such topics, simple and honest conversations—shared gradually and thoughtfully—lay a strong foundation for trust and understanding. Using proper anatomical names during everyday routines and gently teaching that “your body belongs to you” empowers children with confidence and clarity. As they grow, these conversations can expand to include body boundaries and consent in ways that feel natural and reassuring.
Wumsy’s Heart Goes Pitter-Patter helps parents approach these important themes in a gentle, engaging, and child-friendly way. It transforms an everyday story into a heartwarming opportunity to nurture emotional intelligence, self-respect, and kindness.
A sweet story with an important message—perfect for Valentine’s Day and beyond.

Inspiration behind Clumsy Wumsy book
Spring has always felt a little magical to me—and if you have children, you’ve probably seen that same sense of wonder in their eyes. After the long, quiet winter, everything slowly comes back to life. First the grass turns green, then come the crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips, followed by cheerful dandelions and fields bursting with color. Buds begin to open on the trees, birds fill the air with happy songs, and even squirrels seem extra busy, searching for their hidden treasures.
It’s the perfect season to step outside with your child and explore together. Those small, everyday moments—spotting the first flower, listening to birds chirping, or watching a tree bloom—can turn into meaningful conversations and lasting memories. That love of sharing nature with my own young daughter is what inspired my first book, Clumsy Wumsy.
And then, of course, there’s Easter—a time that brings even more joy into the season. From painting eggs together at the kitchen table to the excitement of an egg hunt and the irresistible treats (yes, chocolate bunnies included!), it’s such a special opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate as a family.
I’d love to hear from you—what are your favorite springtime or Easter traditions with your children?
